Connecticut Non-Resident

Concealed Carry Online Application Information

Out-of-state residents interested in applying for a Connecticut State Pistol Permit must apply directly through the Connecticut State Police, Special Licensing and Firearms Unit.

To start, download the Connecticut Pistol Permit Application Package. This includes all necessary forms and detailed instructions for completing your application.

Be sure to read all instructions carefully, as the application process includes several required steps, including fingerprinting and background checks.

A firearms safety course is required for all applicants. This course must cover firearm safety and include live fire training with a firearm and ammunition.

Important Note: The NYS 18 Hour Required CCW clas certificate is not accepted by Connecticut. You will need to complete an approved firearms safety course that meets Connecticut's specific standards.

If you are interested in enrolling in this course, please reach out to us here.
